The London Shed - opening & usage

An official opening of The London Shed was held on 2nd June 2012 with a traditional smoking ceremony conducted by local aboriginal elders and Welcome to Country as told by well-known aboriginal elder 'Aunty Cupie'.

Attending the Opening ceremony were senior representatives from the ANU, other ANU academics and students as well as members of the local and wider community. The beginning of our 'College Grove' was planted following the opening of The London Shed. Donations for trees were received from three of the ANU Colleges, as well as one private donation from a long-time supporter of The Edith & Joy London Foundation.

Feedback received from groups has highlighted the benefits of holding various research, teaching and cultural activities at Kioloa in this uniquely and sustainably designed building that enhances their 'Kioloa experience' within the natural surroundings.
