Peter's Cottage is yet another of the old mill cottages that was re-roofed by volunteer student parties in 1976 and fitted out as a bunkhouse to accommodate 12 persons in 1977. The floor was covered with hardboard, then vinyl in 1980.

In 1981 the verandah was re-floored and rebuilt. Steps to the verandah were constructed, rear doorframe repaired, log piles replaced, a covered rear porch developed and general maintenance carried out. Recently a new slab of concrete has been poured across the back of the house and a small toilet and shower built at its eastern end. Plans for a second shower and toilet have been suspended but the base of the second addition is in place.

Peter's Cottage was also completely renovated in 2005 in identical fashion to Groper Cottage and can accommodate eight people in three bedrooms
