The Dairy is situated above the road adjacent to the original cattle
yards on the hillside behind Joy
London's garden. The building was
of relatively recent construction, probably post World War II. For
many years this was used for milking and the supply of milk locally.
In 1975-80 a single cow was hand-milked for the house supply, usually
by Neil Evans, and the first Kioloa manager milked a cow for some
time. This building remains unchanged from 1975 and needs some maintenance
at the present time. The longer term vision for this building is
to convert it into a self contained single bedroom writers cottage.
The Dairy is for the use of staff and authorised personnel only. |
